Love this new brunch spot called Jane On York in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. This vintage house on York Blvd was converted into this cute little restaurant.
I missed out on one of tables in the outdoor patio, but grabbed a seat at the communal table instead. My brunch was their Jane’s Omelette. It’s stuffed with chopped mushrooms, red peppers, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and (my favorite) Applewood Smoked Bacon. It also has a few slices of avocado on top. This brunch item comes with potatoes and a fruit cup. The omelet tasted good, but it was a bit on the dry side. I personally think that more cheese would have perfected it. It soooo needed the extra cheese.
I love Pancakes made from scratch. Just two when it’s ordered as a side at Jane On York. Butter and Maple syrup…That’s it!
Jane On York along with many new eateries and coffeehouses in Highland Park represent the dining highlights of this old (and newly gentrified) Los Angeles neighborhood. Expect a long line that could, at times, spill over onto the patio. Why? Because they have to make new batches of their creme brulee batter for their French Toasts and batter for the pancakes. The long line for these popular items on the menu is worth the wait. The street parking is a pain, but the long stroll can do you some good.
