Just a few food photos from my recent visit at Cafe Demitasse in Santa Monica for their Pop-up dinner series. Last weekend was another Filipino Pop-up dinner by Chef Jeff Lustre.
Here’s what was serving for our $45 prix-fixe modern Filipino meal:
First Course: Poached Shrimp and Mango Bavaroise. The drink pairing – a Vanilla-and Ancho chili infused soda.
Second Course: Octopus with barley, kabocha cream, coffee crumbles. The drink pairing – a Lavender infused Kabocha Tea Latte.
Third Course: Purple Yam (Ube) Gnocchi accompanied with cauliflower, mais fonduta, and balsamico. The drink pairing – a White Carrot Spiced Latte.
Fourth Course: Oxtail Caldereta with parsnip purée. The drink pairing – a Blood Orange Shrub.
Fifth Course: Calamansi Posset with candied kumquats and paired with and Iced Coconut Creme Latte with shaved kumquats.
