For the past year, I’ve been reading about all the good food at Playa Provisions in Playa Del Rey. One of the chef/owners, Brooke Williamson, competed in Top Chef, so I figured that it was time that I check out the place. The overall concept of Playa Provisions is very ambitious with a restaurant, bakery, coffee bar, and an ice cream shop all under one roof. I quite like it, because it brings some piazz to an otherwise super quiet yet tiny beach town in the Los Angeles area.

Pearl was my Brunch Buddy a week ago. The drinks were super stiff. I’m not sure if our cocktails had anything to do with making our food taste super salty, but the food was good too. Anyway, we each shared the Cajun Shrimp & Dungeness Crab Eggs Benedict and the Redneck Eggs Benedict with that luscious Bacon Gravy…Ooooooo! I love the creativity of this restaurant and its representation of California Cuisine, well, at least for its brunch. 

Brunch is like the thing to do at Playa Provision on a Sunday morning. It’s served at 11:00AM, but a quick breakfast and their coffee is available as early as 7:30AM, which leaves you wiggle room to take a stroll along the beach to walk off the calories. I have yet to try their dinner service, which I have read is simple yet brilliant. Parking is $2 Valet Parking or you can search for street parking surrounding the restaurant.
